How to do Tapping

How do you even begin tapping?
It’s actually quite simple once you know the steps.
At the end of this video, you’ll know exactly how to start this practice in the most efficient and effective way.
Step 1: The Tapping points and The Sequence of the Points
- Karate chop
- Inner eyebrow
- Outside of your eye
- Under your eye
- Under the nose
- Under your chin
- Collarbone
- Under the arm
Those are the tapping points and sequence. Watch the video to see me go through the points and show you exactly where they are on the body. There are also a few bonus tapping points in the video.
Step 2: Your Setup Statement
Before tapping on the points, you’ll need to get specific on why you’re even tapping. This is a key ingredient of getting this technique to work for you.
To do this, identify what you are having trouble with. Is it an emotion? Anger, sadness, guilt, anxiety, uncontrollable food cravings? Write down what it is that you’d like to change or improve.
In the video, we dive deeper and use those emotions and feelings to create your setup statement phrase.
This setup statement is crucial because it diffuses the subconscious mind’s resistance to change. Which will allow the rest of the tapping to start releasing the emotions and feelings more easily.
Step 3: Tap on the Negative
So far we have the negative emotions, feelings, and/or patterns we are looking to release, the intensity of the emotion, AND our setup phrase it’s now time to get tapping.
When we tap on the “negative emotion” or the truth as we perceive it. The truth is you’re really angry or hurt by the truth we are working to clear.
We will tap on the “negative” first in order to clear the resistance, not to affirm the truth. This helps open the door for positive thoughts.
Now that we have the foundation in place, we are ready to tap.
Our next step is to do a couple of rounds of tapping where you tap through all the tapping points you learned earlier.

Step 4: Check-in and Repeat
After going through the tapping sequence it's a good idea to check-in with yourself and re-evaluate how you feel about your issue. Has the issue stayed the same or has it shifted some during the tapping?
Rate your current intensity. Did it go down, go up or stay the same? Our goal is to get it to a 2, 1, or zero.
It’s okay if the number went up or didn’t move. That just means there are more stuck emotions to continue to release. You may have even triggered new emotions. This is all just normal and part of the process.
Also, it’s not uncommon that the original emotional issue you were tapping on goes down, but a different memory or emotion popped up and you’ll need to tap on that for the next round of tapping.
Go through the steps with the new issue (if there is one) or just continue with the initial issue.
Continue doing tapping rounds until you feel some release from the emotion or feeling. It can take several tapping rounds to clear what is bothering you.
